Listen up! The sound of Boston has always been dominated by fierce, strong, and talented womxn. Bust Out Boston aims to recognize this long legacy of powerful talent—and celebrate the local and global wave of change as we dismiss boundaries and revel in inclusivity.

Bust Out Boston is an annual festival dedicated to celebrating music in the Boston area through the lens of female-identifying, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and trans artists. The festival honors this scene and demonstrates Boston’s dynamic musical landscape by exposing unknown artists, celebrating established ones, and bolstering the local community.

After a successful 5-day pilot event in 2018 at the Burren in Somerville, Bust Out Boston is proud to have teamed up with Do617 to present a one-day event at Brighton Music Hall on Sunday, September 8th. A portion of the proceeds earned will be donated to Girls Rock Camp Boston and Planned Parenthood of Boston

Dedicated to featuring a range of diverse musicians and genres, Bust Out Boston is thrilled to announce that this year’s headliners will be Wellesley College alum, genre-defying, national touring artist Caroline Rose and one of Boston’s most prominent female rappers Dutch Rebelle. Also just added to lineup: Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys, Brandie Blaze, Magen Tracy and the Missed Connections, Ghost Grl, Jill McCracken, Hawthorn, The Downhauls with special guest Carissa Johnson, Genie Santiago, Home Despot, Naomi Westwater, Pony Snot.

MUCH LOVE TO OUR SPONSORS WHO MADE THIS EVENT POSSIBLE

Bust Out Boston has partnered with Do617 and Crossroads Presents and is grateful to our sponsors/supporters, which include Sound Rink, Pabst Blue Ribbon, SUM, Rev Clinics, Dr. Martens, Pride Nation/Live Nation, and Roxy's Grilled Cheese. We are proud to be working with The Secret Bureau of Art & Design, which provides the design for the festival, and Jen Vesp Photography for the visuals.
